I have been out of the country now for about fifteen days and have religiously kept up with this monstrosity of a health care reform bill through the wonder that is Twitter. It saddens me that the Progressives are so hell bent on taking away our freedom that they are using every legal and extra-legal parliamentary shenanigan ever devised to pass this unpopular legislation. They think that they are being so clever with their “Reconciliation” and “Deemed Passed” and Stupak’s a non-binding political cover vote AFTER the bill is passed and the sleazy open bribes for votes…all the while ignoring the will of the people who are solidly in opposition to this bill. As with everything else this leftist wrecking crew in Congress and the White House devises; it’s all about the spin, and the President’s ego and a government takeover of every aspect of our lives. We liberty loving Americans are viewed as a dying breed of no consequence.

Let’s be clear…EVERYONE in America has access to health care. But not everyone has access to decent and affordable health insurance coverage. There is a difference. Do we need to reform the way we pay for and deliver health care in America? Damn right we do. We need tort reform. We need the ability to purchase insurance across state lines. We need to remove barriers to coverage based on pre-existing conditions. We need to cover those that can’t afford coverage. What we don’t need is a 2,300 page, hastily cobbled-together piece of legislation that no one wants to read and is a direct threat to our liberty and the financial health of our great Nation. According to the Speaker, we have to pass it so we can learn what’s in it. How is this rational government?

And the projected costs are breathtaking. Is the bill deficit neutral as promised so many times? Absolutely not. The CBO’s preliminary, and well-trumpeted by the MSM, cost estimate that is just under the politically unacceptable number of one trillion dollars, is based on draft, not final, legislative language and an intellectually dishonest scoring system that assumes ten years of revenue and six years of cost! Forget the awful socialization aspects of the health care bill for a minute…do they really believe we Americans are so stupid as to accept this bald-faced untruth about the actual cost? How the President can stand there lip-synching to his teleprompter and outright lie to the American public is, frankly, unacceptable. Congressman Joe Wilson was right and continues to be right. Mr. President; “You lie!”

There are many good reasons why health care reform needs to be addressed by Americans. Are there uninsured in America? Sure for a variety of reasons…can’t pay for insurance, don’t want to pay for insurance or are legally uninsurable because they are not citizens. Wouldn’t an expansion of Medicare for those who can’t pay be a more reasonable approach? There will always be uninsured in America and even under this bill the CBO estimates 30 million citizens still won’t be covered by 2019. Are there underinsured in America? You bet and they deserve to be granted opportunities to have access to decent affordable coverage. This screams for a free-market solution not a government mandated scheme.

Ever been frustrated with trying to obtain proper reimbursement for health care services only to find yourself in that peculiar bureaucratic labyrinth devised by the insurance companies where it takes multiple calls and unending documentation submittals? Something here certainly needs reforming but is the addition of federal bureaucracy going to improve the service?

Unfortunately this narcissistic President and his Progressive acolytes in Congress have spent so much of their political capital with the American people on this awful bill that the well has been truly and forever poisoned for any future bipartisan approaches to real health care reform.

The facts:

This bill will add to the budget deficit. It will cost American jobs. It will devastate small businesses. It will balloon the federal budget. It will restrict our freedom of choice. It will bankrupt the country.

It will not solve the real health care issues. It will not cover all Americans. It will not make us healthier. It will not reduce the budget deficit. It will not settle the debate.

Or the civil unrest to come.

Are we being led by fools or are we the fools?

Sigh…

Dreaming about the future of our great country, and the leadership we need to break this unfortunate cycle of socialism, brought me to list those who I believe are our allies in this fight for liberty. Before we officially enter into the 2010 and 2012 election cycles, (apparently at the exact same moment after midnight on January 1, 2010) we should all sit back and reflect on what we want our government to look like in 2013.

What we want is a government of “We the People” and that can only happen when we dispense with the socialists in power today while concurrently thanking and dismissing the ‘business as usual’ RINOs from the GOP. We need candidates that believe in liberty, free-markets and our Constitution. It’s high time we stopped being overly polite, politically correct and reaching across the aisle to these enemies of our liberty. Bipartisanship, my friends, died with the Senate vote on Christmas Eve….Senate decorum be damned; bipartisanship is a thing of the past. Now it’s time to elect conservatives, libertarians and independents who believe in our Constitution and will maintain their integrity and conservative principles before and AFTER the 2012 election. Full stop.

So here’s my 2012 ‘Leadership Dream Team’ of 24 right-thinking great Americans who deserve our support. For your convenience, I’ve slotted them into the leadership positions that work best for my vision of America’s future. What is yours? You are more than welcome to argue the merits of each candidate on the list and I reserve the right to ‘revise and extend my remarks’ as we go through the next two years and learn more about each. So whom did I leave off the list? Who should not be on the list? Discuss among yourselves and comment!

The Anointed One has probably been on the presidential fast track since he was an Indonesian student named Barry Soetero at Occidental College. This fast track life molded BHO into a classic narcissist. As a rookie narcissist he lied to obtain a scholarship reserved for foreign students because he felt he was entitled. Now, as a full-blown narcissist, he feels entitled to force his socialist beliefs on America. Reviewing the description of narcissism at the www.MayoClinic.com site got me to thinking…read the symptoms below and tell me it doesn’t sound like The Anointed One.

BHO is a made up President…totally scripted, big flashy smile, a wife from central casting, the requisite two children, a famous dog, rich friends in high places and no real substance. But he can’t take criticism and lashes out at anyone who dares question his socialist policies, his Chicago-style tactics or the Communist sympathizers on his staff. And just how many times can you use the term “I” in a speech without seeming disconnected from reality? He takes credit for everything but blame for nothing. From the Mayo Clinic description, “When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement.”

Compare BHO’s narcissism to high paid professional athletes who have been given everything from the minute they were identified as blue chip players in junior high school. Their narcissism is reflected in antisocial behavior involving drugs, guns, fighting dogs, and physical abuse of those close to them. The Anointed One’s narcissism is reflected in his insistence that America wants to hear him anytime he speaks, or that people in other countries want to see him in a town hall meeting, or that he can tie up traffic in any city when he wants to take his wife on a ‘date’ or that he can fly into Copenhagen and automatically save Chicago’s Olympic bid or that he can completely change his name and hide his personal history. Because he’s entitled.

Barry is scary. And probably in need of counseling.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (www.MayoClinic.com)

Definition

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they’re superior to others and have little regard for other people’s feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders. Personality disorders are conditions in which people have traits that cause them to feel and behave in socially distressing ways, limiting their ability to function in relationships and in other areas of their life, such as work or school. In particular, narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, in the same category as histrionic, antisocial and borderline personality disorders. Narcissistic personality disorder treatment is centered around psychotherapy.

Symptoms

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

Believing that you’re better than others

Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness

Exaggerating your achievements or talents

Expecting constant praise and admiration

Believing that you’re special

Failing to recognize other people’s emotions and feelings

Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans

Taking advantage of others

Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior

Believing that others are jealous of you

Trouble keeping healthy relationships

Setting unrealistic goals

Being easily hurt and rejected

Having a fragile self-esteem

Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional

Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it’s not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don’t value themselves more than they value others.

When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don’t receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may also seek out others you think have the same special talents, power and qualities — people you see as equals. You may insist on having “the best” of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.

But underneath all this grandiosity often lies a very fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.

Keynote Speech by Maurice Strong at High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change in Asia and Pacific: A Development Challenge, ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines in Manila on June 16-17, 2009

“In a market economy which drives the processes of globalization, the market provides the signals that motivate sustainable development. This means shifting taxes to products and practices which are environmentally and socially harmful from those which are least harmful. In effect, getting the prices right. No nation can do this alone without disadvantaging its own economy; it can only be effectively done within an internationally agreed framework.”

Be very afraid…Maurice and his buddy Al Gore are up to no good and you will pay for it. Come to know the terms ‘Sustainable Development’ and ‘Agenda 21′ and understand that these are the basis for the Copenhagen Protocol which will strip the United States of its sovereignty in the name of Climate Change. This agreement, of which a draft is NOT offered for review on the UN site (http://en.cop15.dk/), will begin to fulfill the socialist agenda of wealth transfer from the rich country (that would be us) to the poor countries (that would be everyone else save maybe the UK who has big time consumed the climate change KoolAid). This is bad for everyone except China and India who will refuse to go along in favor of building their industries…and economies at the expense of the US.

Read Chapter 8 of Agenda 21 (http://www.un.org/esa/dsd/agenda21/) and then start protesting to the Senate to NEVER ratify this Protocol. A prediction…The Anointed One will valiantly swoop out of the sky in Air Force One landing in Copenhagen just in time to take credit for the agreed Protocol. And, a small silver cloud here, he will annoy the Euro-Socialists in doing so. We can only hope his failure to bully the IOC for Chicago will be repeated with Copenhagen 2009.

Answered by William Thomas on The Atlas Society website:

My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.
— Ayn Rand, Appendix to Atlas Shrugged

Objectivism is the philosophy of rational individualism founded by Ayn Rand (1905-1982). In novels such as The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, Rand dramatized her ideal man, the producer who lives by his own effort and does not give or receive the undeserved, who honors achievement and rejects envy.

Objectivism holds that there is no greater moral goal than achieving happiness. But one cannot achieve happiness by wish or whim. Fundamentally, it requires rational respect for the facts of reality, including the facts about our human nature and needs. Happiness requires that one live by objective principles, including moral integrity and respect for the rights of others. Politically, Objectivists advocate laissez-faire capitalism. Under capitalism, a strictly limited government protects each person’s rights to life, liberty, and property and forbids that anyone initiate force against anyone else. The heroes of Objectivism are achievers who build businesses, invent technologies, and create art and ideas, depending on their own talents and on trade with other independent people to reach their goals.

Objectivism is optimistic, holding that the universe is open to human achievement and happiness and that each person has within him the ability to live a rich, fulfilling, independent life. This idealistic message suffuses Rand’s novels, which continue to sell by the hundreds of thousands every year to people attracted to their inspirational storylines and distinctive ideas.

I just fielded a call from the Republican National Committee interrupting my multi-slacking use of Twitter as I was following the outpouring of health care reform lies from the umpteenth staged Presidential ‘Town Hall’. Hey…does anyone else cringe when they hear the term “Town Hall” now besides me? Anyway, after a rambling, Obama-bashing preamble, he asked if I would “like to become a full member of the RNC for $200 or would $100 work better for me?” How about neither?

I advised the glib young man that while I have been a registered Republican for my entire adult life, I was just as unhappy with the VichyRepublicans in Congress (with a few noteworthy exceptions like John Culberson, Jim DeMint, and Mike Pence) as I am with the DemoFascists. And that I would rather give money directly to individual candidates that I support than to the RNC. And, oh by the way, if Michael Steele wants my support he needs to get out there and push for the conservative candidates like Marco Rubio over that RINO Charlie Crist in FL. That set off a firestorm of demanding questions.

“Who does the RNC support that you don’t like?” Let’s start with the two Republican senators from Maine, I said. He retorted that the RNC is NOT backing them and demanded to know who else. How about Lindsey Graham in SC who voted for that racist Sotomayor? He flatly stated that the RNC does NOT support Senator Graham. At this point I challenged him that it just couldn’t be true that the RNC was not backing three sitting Senators. He was contemptuous of my question and repeated his claim. Then he asked who I supported.

I started to go into my list of Republicans who deserve the support of conservatives that believe in the Constitution and free-markets and, after listing Culberson and DeMint, I mentioned Sarah Palin and he went berserk. To quote this official representative of the RNC, “How can you send money to Palin? She isn’t even a Republican anymore and would probably use the money to buy dresses.” I was stunned to say the least. How quickly our most recent vice presidential candidate has slipped from their hearts and minds.

This hidebound Grand Old Party has ceased being a joke and is now just a farce. Michael Steele, if you believe that these tactics and this type of fundraising are necessary for our support, then you need to resign. Where were you, by the way, when that awful Pelosi called us “un-American?” I didn’t hear any outrage from you. Our future support, and by that I mean the support of Americans who believe in limited government, low taxation, and individual freedom, will be based on Republican candidates believing in these same things. Full stop. The VichyRepublicans, including the RNC, are just another, better camouflaged, version of the DemoFascists that are trying to force socialism upon us. A pox on both their houses!

The Most Interesting Man in the World, when he drinks beer, drinks Dos Equis. The Anointed One, when he drinks beer, seems to lean towards a brew that is amber in color with a touch of bitterness. And with the greatest alcoholic, err…political punch. So in St. Louis for the MLB All-Star game he famously drank Budweiser. If the game had been in Denver he would have sipped an ice cold Coors. And, if the game had been played in Milwaukee, he would have been quaffing Miller High Life. But his awkward attempts at the common touch are used solely to appeal to the common man (or woman) for political purposes. And so is his invitation to his racist buddy Skip Gates and the dedicated Cambridge police officer, Sgt. Crowley, to join him for a brew to clear the air.

To start with, a simple apology would have probably been sufficient in response to his stupidly delivered remarks on Gates’ arrest for disorderly conduct when asked during his umpteenth prime time press conference. The teleprompter should have said something like, “I don’t really know all the details. No comment.” But the White House never wants to waste a good crisis and I’ll be darned if I might just think the question was planted since those pesky ‘unnamed sources’ have been whispering that Obama was outraged that his dear friend had been arrested and he was sure the country wanted to know his opinion on the matter. So a scripted question was asked, scripted remarks were made to look off-hand, a scripted story was born by the MSM and a phony public relations crisis was initiated to take our free-market minds off the socialist health care debacle that is shaping up in Congress. Then somebody in the White House Office of Spin Doctoring (run by Czar Emanuel) got the brilliant idea to invite the Nutty Professor and the good Sgt. Crowley over for a beer. Makes sense, no? It’s a Boston area policeman so he must like beer? Right? This, my friends, is a clear cut case of beverage profiling!

If the unfortunate incident had happened in San Francisco would the offending party and arresting officer be invited in for a nice glass of Lava Cap Zinfandel? If the arrest was made in Kentucky would the group repair to the Oval Office for a snifter of Maker’s Mark bourbon? Or would Coca-Cola be the beverage on offer if Atlanta had been the scene of the crime? Of course they would! This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with regional beverage profiling to appeal to the good voters of Boston. The spin doctors are convinced that the electorate will understand immediately that Sgt. Crowley having a beer with the President and the perpetrator will settle the matter once and for all. And it certainly begs the question; how many other perps arrested by Sgt. Crowley over the years of his exemplary service have been invited to a local tavern and stood a pint to make sure that there were no bad feelings over their arrest? My guess…this is the first, and only, time.

It would probably be a career-limiting move for Sgt. Crowley to refuse the accept a beer with the President so we need to give him a pass on what will most likely be a forced smile on his face during the obligatory photo op on Thursday evening. But this phony event doesn’t in any way excuse either the outrageous racist behavior of Gates or the stupid racist remarks by Obama. So much for a post-racial America. Stay thirsty, and vigilant, my friends.

…and their spouses and partners and significant others. And probably their dads and moms and brothers and sisters and kids and all the rest of their shirt-tail relatives as well. Why is it that every time you turn over a rock in the Democratic Party and the roaches go scurrying there is always a back-story that involves criminal activity?

In American Thinker, the daily conservative website dealing with American politics, Joel B. Pollak writes an article titled “Protecting Pelosi, not America” that got me to wondering just who the hell this Jan Schakowsky is and why I should care about her. Turns out she is just another of the Chicago Obamabots and a close friend of Pelosi who gave her a very important job on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Which, apparently now, she sees as a way to right old wrongs. Pollak writes:

“Democrat Jan Schakowsky of Illinois proved last week why President Barack Obama was right to threaten to veto a bill that could give more politicians access to classified briefings about covert CIA operations.

Schakowsky took to the airwaves to accuse the CIA of misleading Congress on the orders of former Vice President Dick Cheney. According to Schakowsky and a handful of other Democrats, CIA director Leon Panetta told them at a classified briefing last month that the agency had practiced “systematic deception” for years. She demanded an investigation and suggested that charges could be brought against CIA officials.

But the CIA denied Panetta had made any such admission — and even Schakowsky had to allow that Panetta’s briefing concerned “one occasion.” That occasion was a program, conceived in 2001 but never implemented, to track and target Al-Qaeda terrorists around the world.

Not only did Congress know about the program, according to Panetta’s predecessor Michael Hayden, but Congressional leaders apparently supported it. Indeed, President Obama made the hunt for Al-Qaeda a repeated theme of his 2008 election campaign, scolding Bush for diverting resources from the “real” war on terror. “We will kill bin Laden,” he vowed in the second presidential debate in October. “We will crush Al-Qaeda.”

So why the outrage from Schakowsky and her colleagues?

It appears that the controversy has less to do with protecting America than protecting Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.”

So let’s research this jewel of the Democratic Leadership. From Wikipedia we learn:

“Schakowsky is one of the most (and by some accounts, the most) liberal members of the current US Congress. She is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. She frequently gains ratings of between 90 and 100 from liberal and progressive interest groups and lower ratings from conservative groups. She called the 2009 tax day protest tea parties “despicable.”

The Nation endorsed her for vice president in the United States presidential election, 2004, stating that she is ‘the truest heir to Paul Wellstone in the current Congress’. She was, however, not selected as John Kerry’s running mate.

But then there is this, which probably is the reason we didn’t see her smiling by Senator Kerry’s side during the 2004 election:

On March 11, 2004, Schakowsky’s husband, lobbyist Robert Creamer, the executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund, was indicted in federal court on 16 counts of bank fraud involving three alleged check-kiting schemes in the mid-1990s, leading several banks to experience shortfalls of at least $2.3 million. ”He is innocent,” Schakowsky said in a statement. In August 2005, Creamer pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect withholding tax, and bank fraud for writing checks with insufficient funds. All of the money was repaid. According to USA Today, “Schakowsky has not been accused of any wrongdoing.” Schakowsky served on the organization’s board during the time the crimes occurred, and Schakowsky signed the IRS filings along with her husband. U.S. District Judge James B. Moran noted no one suffered “out of pocket losses,” and Creamer acted not out of greed but in an effort to keep his community action group going without cutting programs, though Creamer paid his own $100,000 salary with fraudulently obtained funds. On April 5, 2006, Creamer was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months of house arrest. Creamer served his five-month incarceration at the Federal Correction Institute in Terre Haute, Indiana and was released on November 3, 2006.

So, once again, another holier-than-thou Democrat had a legal problem. Her husband wasn’t criminal in the traditional Democratic non-payment of taxes way, he was just your ordinary check fraud artist making sure his ‘community action group’ had enough cash flow to survive…including the payment of his own $100,000 salary. From which I’m sure Representative Schakowsky (D-IL) didn’t gain any benefit since theirs is a modern marriage and all finances are kept separate. Right? And how about the MSM? Oh, I’m sure they won’t bring it up since it happened way back in 2004. About the same time Vice President Cheney is being accused of withholding information from Congress on a CIA plan that was never implemented. TO FIND AND KILL TERRORISTS! Good grief.

We are all Twittering and Facebooking and blogging and emailing and surfing the internet in search of answers to the current political crisis. And we are angry…very angry. We can’t quite grasp our new political identity but we know there are hundreds of thousands, probably millions, of Americans who, like us, completely disagree with the DemoFascists and VichyRepublicans jointly stampeding our country over the ill-fated Cliffs of Socialism. Are we Reagan Conservatives? @RonPaul_2012 Libertarians? Are we Independents so independent that we don’t even have a patron saint like Reagan or Paul? Or have we become The Social Media Party?

@drscoundrels posed a great question on the Twitterverse today asking, and I’ll paraphrase here, is 140 characters enough to make a difference? The simple answer is probably not. But let’s consider what has happened with the social media explosion. We have favorite blogs that are must reading every morning. We grin when someone on Twitter beats the MSM by 30 minutes on a breaking story. We become Facebook Fans of politicos and eagerly anticipate daily updates on their Facebook Walls. We are glued to our radios and TVs waiting for the latest revelation by Glenn or Bill or Sean so we can Tweet it to our loyal followers. We’ve even embraced Dick Morris as one of our own! This powerful social media information delivery system to our radios, televisions, laptops and BlackBerries is instant gratification for our insatiable appetites to define a logical Conservative-Libertarian-Independent path forward and away from this nasty creeping socialism of the Obamabots.

The Tea Parties have been an interesting start to a grassroots Conservative-Libertarian-Independent political organization. Even with the basic lack of press coverage, except negative, hundreds of thousands of people gathered all across the nation on Tax Day and Independence Day to protest the tax and spend policies being rammed through Congress. And it was all arranged on blogs, through Facebook and with Twitter hashtags. But it is now time to go more mainstream at these gatherings and to involve those politicians and pundits who agree with us. Focusing only on the grassroots crowd (which unfortunately also brings out the fringe fanatics…the John Birchers, the motorcycle gangs and the single issue Christians) leaves out a significant group of Americans who are aligned with our intellectual and political intent. The Tea Parties had significant attendance from this new Silent Majority. But they weren’t front and center. They literally and figuratively stayed on the sidelines of the events being quietly supportive. To achieve our new majority, these are the people to whom we need to reach out.

My experiences at the Houston Tea Parties on both April 15th and July 3rd were positive (a shout out to @somethingfishie who pretty much singlehandedly planned both events) despite the lack of big name speakers except for the hilarious @scrowder. But the next event just has to include people who are fellow believers in liberty and small government and low taxation and strong defense and freedom and who are already inside the Beltway. Here in Houston we have a well-respected conservative Congressman who would have been a great draw to the July event despite the 104F heat index in the direct sun. Why didn’t Representative John Culberson (R-TX) speak? He can help us in so many more ways than that guy who wandered back and forth in front of the stage at Discovery Green carrying snide and petty signs about Pelosi. Not that I didn’t appreciate the snide remarks about the Speaker, I’m just pointing out that Congressman Culberson sometimes has the bully pulpit on the Fox News Channel and that other guy doesn’t and never will. And Culberson is on our side!

So here’s the deal. I suggest we invite @johnculberson and @AKGovSarahPalin and @newtgingrich and @JimDeMint and @KasichForOhio, and @GovMikeHuckabee and all those other fellow Conservative-Libertarian-Independent travelers to help us lead this Social Media army. We need to insist that through their networks in Washington that Conservative-Libertarian-Independents already in Congress follow the Constitution. Bipartisanship is unacceptable when the future of our great nation is at stake. For example, no politician voting in favor of placing that racist Sotomayor on the Supreme Court would be eligible for formal support from our Party. Full stop. Even though they are arithmetically-challenged in this Congress, those that consider themselves Conservative-Libertarian-Independent should vote their political philosophy and not with thoughts of future legislative goodwill from the DemoFascists. That will never happen. We are no longer in the back-scratching era of Congresses past where defacto bipartisanship was expected. Gone are the days of Sam Rayburn or LBJ inviting the Republicans in for a bourbon and branchwater to settle a vote and everybody got a little something. (For the record, that last statement would have the hashtag “#irony” imbedded in the 140 characters) Nowadays both the DemoFascists and VichyRepublicans in Congress trip over each other in their scramble to get to the TV cameras on the Capital steps to make sure that their sound bites make the evening news shows. Nobody plays politics the way they used to in the good old days. Now it’s all theatrical makeup and the “I” word. Let’s get a new cast of characters in Congress that truly wants to work for our Republic starting in 2010.

And to the Chattering Classes… we need the talking heads, radio hosts and the bloggers who are staples on the chat shows in our new Party. We need you guys to keep up your good work; @glennbeck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, @KarlRove, @HeyTammyBruce, @DLoesch, @AmandaCarpenter, @MichelleMalkin and even good old skeptical @Allahpundit. Delivering the freedom message and challenging the current Inside the Beltway wisdom to an ever-widening audience of receptive voters is your lot in life. And we appreciate it.

To be a political force, this new Party needs to be center-right like the majority of Americans have been predisposed for the last 230+ years. It will necessarily be a coalition so we can’t get hung up on single issues and fractious factions or the bad guys will win again. And we can’t run the same tired old pols in every election just because they have been there before or it’s their turn. We want to see women and men of conviction who believe in the Rule of Law and our Constitution and in freedom to step up and declare their intention to do good for the people of America.

A retweet of myself to summarize: RT @Strathbogie It’s time to set up Second Life meetings so our avatars can begin planning the Electoral Surges of The Social Media Party. Long live the Twitterverse!

On a recent evening I was taking a break from non-stop Fox News Channel viewing and innocently enjoying the guilty pleasure of the finale to CBS’s “Survivor”. During the commercial breaks one new advertisement kept appearing that just seemed out of place. Who had ever heard of Ally Bank and why were they flush enough to put multiple ads on, what might be termed, the Super Bowl episode of reality TV? My curiosity finally got the best of me and it was off to query my friend Google about this Ally Bank. What I found was, sadly, our tax dollars at work in Detroit. Is this Automobile Unification Plan (OK, so the Fascists call it a bailout) any different than the Railroad Unification Plan or the Steel Unification Plan of ‘Atlas Shrugged’? I think not.

Ally Bank (née General Motors Acceptance Corporation Bank) had been created out of the bailout dustup between the Obama Administration, General Motors and the UAW (United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America). And it was announced under the radar on a Friday, which was why I was so confused over who they were on the Sunday evening two days later. Compliments to Ally Bank for the very impressive timing between rebranding and national ad placement. Too bad they didn’t have the guts to expose their shameful pedigree in the ads. But the more I drilled down into the story, the more confusing it got. When the bailout is all said and done, the government and the UAW will own the majority stake in GM. Which owns a majority stake in GMAC. Which owns a majority stake in GMAC Bank. Which is now Ally Bank. Which, in addition to financing GM cars, has also been granted exclusive rights to financing cars from Chrysler Corporation. Which is majority owned by the government and the UAW. But the confusion doesn’t stop there. Ally Bank also has other interesting ownership as well.

Remember Cerberus Capital Management? This is the private equity firm with serious Republican ties (former VP Dan Quayle runs an international unit and former Treasury Secretary, John Snow, is the Chairman) that stepped up to the plate in 2007 and foolishly bought an 80% share in Chrysler. And promptly, same day, mortgaged all the valuable Chrysler properties to cover their debt. Founded in 1992, Cerberus is named for the mythological three-headed dog that guarded the gates of Hades (government, unions and banks?) and is run by a 49-year old, publicity shy, serial Republican donor named Steve Feinberg. In 2009, Cerberus Capital Management lost its equity stake and ownership in Chrysler as a condition of the Treasury Department’s bailout deal. But, and pay attention here, Cerberus did maintain a controlling stake in Chrysler’s financing arm, Chrysler Financial. Which means not only was Cerberus the financing arm of Chrysler but, along with the federal government, is now the financing arm of GM. Which is now also the financing arm of Chrysler. Seems a bit circular with Cerberus at the hub collecting the returns, no? Oh, and get this, Cerberus has ties with Bernie Madoff. Someone called J. Ezra Merkin is a partner in Cerberus. His Gabriel Fund invested $79 million in Chrysler, $66 million in GMAC and $67 million in Cerberus partnerships. The Gabriel Fund was a feeder fund for Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities. Could the Automobile Unification Plan reach all the way down to bailout those poor folks who trusted Bernie? Don’t bet against it.

So here’s the cunning plan to thwart the Fascists. Boycott Ally Bank. To allow the masking…err…rebranding of a quasi-government bank like Ally to use TARP money to compete with commercial, profit-seeking, banks is just criminal. Refuse to use their financial instruments and take your business to a commercial bank. Buy from Ford. And pray Ford is never forced into the Automobile Unification Plan but, if they are…never, never, never buy a new American-made car again. Go Galt on Government Motors.
